History
JCDS,
Boston's Jewish Community Day School, was founded in 1995 by a passionate
group of parents, grandparents, educators and Jewish community activists
with a unique vision. They sought to create a child-centered environment
for joyful exploration and learning, with extensive use of Hebrew throughout
the day, for children whose families identify proudly with Judaism in
many different ways.
They envisioned and became committed to a cutting-edge Jewish day school
where the child, the teacher and the whole family are valued and are welcomed
into the learning community. From its inception the school has embraced
diversity along religious, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
The school started with 11 students and has grown in enrollment each
year.
