English and Hebrew Throughout the Day

Mastery of more than one language enhances cognitive development and abstract thinking.

JCDS provides a rich learning environment with excellent modeling and instruction of both English and Hebrew by native speakers of each language. The Hebrew language program at JCDS begins with learning through daily use and continues with a classroom focus on formal rules, spelling and grammar. Both English and Hebrew are used organically as languages of interaction and of instruction at levels appropriate to each individual child. Hebrew language instruction and speaking are not compartmentalized in one, specific part of the day. New students who enter the school after age 7 with limited skills in Hebrew or English are supported in school to the extent possible and may be required to receive tutoring outside the school framework.
