JCDS is conveniently located in Watertown, Massachusetts, bordering the city of Newton and the town of Waltham. Many families come from these communities as well as from Cambridge, Belmont, Brookline, Lexington, Arlington, Wayland, Wellesley and other nearby towns. Among the many reasons to choose JCDS, ease of access is one: the school is easily reached via Route 95, the Massachusetts Turnpike, and many surface streets.

To orient you: We are near Watertown Square, around the corner from Russo’s Market, directly across Waltham Street from Gore Place – an historic landmark whose beautiful sprawling lawn is open to us all year round – and a short stroll from the Charles River, which we gratefully use as a natural resource. Science and other classes use the Charles and her banks as a classroom extension in the spring and fall, and our entire school gathers on a bridge over the river each autumn for Tashlikh.

Situated on seven acres which we purchased the summer of 2008, our school has an outdoor basketball court, a large, colorful playground area complete with swings, slides, various climbing structures and a climbing wall, fenced-in playing fields, and other open play areas.

JCDS is near Route 20 at the Waltham/Watertown line. If you are traveling east on Route 20, make a right onto Gore Street. At the first stop sign, make a left onto Waltham Street (which is Waltham Street heading in the direction you need to go and Grove Street in the other direction), then take your first right onto Stanley Ave. The school is a red brick building near the end of this dead end street. There is a parking lot in front of the school.

Many routes to the school involve driving on Bridge Street until Waltham Street. Please note that there is no street sign at the intersection of Bridge and Waltham Streets. Look for Bemis Playground diagonally across the street to assure yourself that it is the right place to turn left onto Waltham Street. After turning left onto Waltham Street from Bridge Street, take the second left onto Stanley Ave. and proceed to the school parking lot.
